Chapter seven: Father and son (part 2)

Write a different ending of the chapter: "That night, when Alex had gone to sleep, TOM picked up his diary and began writing." (compare p.43, l.34f)
Friday, 8 February

After one month I had my first meeting with Alex.
I'm so glad that he likes me cause I feared Alex hates me because I left him.
That was the greatest day I've ever had.
To have fun with my son gives me a feeling I can't describe.

Chapter seven: Father and son

Comment on the following quote: "And, of course, Alex understood only too well." (p.43, l.33):
In my opinion Alex have the same mind as his dad:

Tom left Alex and Alison to see the world and don't become an adult.

Alex want to meet his father and fly alone around the world to Australia.

The two want to have adventure and can't stay on one point too long.

Chapter six: Into the rain forest (part 2)

Alex is very, very excited to speak with his dad but don't know what he sould say (page 31, line 12:"Hello...Tom" Alex muttered).
He want to shake hands, but Tom hugs him instead and Alex is stirred (page 31, line 15/16:and there were tears in his eyes).

Chapter six: Into the rain forest

The way I see it, Alex will be very excited to meet his father, but he is angry, too.

So if you ask me, Alex wouldn't fall in his arms.

Questions about chapter five: The face in the crowd

Here I have some questions for you!

1.: Why do you think there is a disagreement in the band?

2.: They want to have a week they don't have to see each other. Why?

3.: On the concert Alex see his dad in the crowd. What does he feel in that moment you think?

Chapter four: The big decision

In that chapter Alex is back to Sydney but Tom isn't there because he is in Singapore.
Alex plays the bass guitar in Dani's band, "The Beat Crew" and on a free afternoon they make a trip together.

On a beach she kissed him and later they see penguins. Dani mean that the penguins are sweet, but Alex doesn't think so because the little penguins looked lost and afraid under the lights.

I agree with Alex cause that are free animals and not a attraction in a zoo or in a circus.

Chapter three: the island and the mountain (part 2)

"Let him see how he likes it", Alex thought, as he went to sleep.

Alex means that he want to pay back to his father because Tom had not kept in contact and pretend that his own son did not exist.

He remembered that Tom was expected back home that evening and was glad he wouldn't be there to meet him.

Chapter three: the island and the mountain

St. Mary's Peak is 1190 metres high and it's a dificult walk up.

After over four hours to climb and when Kevin and Alex finally reached the top, they were tired, hot and very sweaty.

Alex said, that there is a great view, and I can imagine that very good.

By this, he means, it's like standing at a top of a crater on the moon and Kevin answered that Tom sad the same.

Alex was disappointed about because he had never done something like this with his real dad.

Chapter two: Hello Australia

The second chapter is about Alex who arrive in Australia and meet Tom's family and Dani, an Australian girl.

Alex is disappointed because he couldn't see his father first time cause he is in London and angry that he had never said something about that Tom often was in England.
